I'm not in a high risk category, nor is there a history of breast cancer in my family, but the waiting was terrifying. Lucky for me it turned out to be a swollen mammory gland. I share this with you so that you will support your friends and/or family when they go to get a mammogram. Even without having a lump, the test is frightening. I've known friends who never felt a lump, but the mammogram found cancer. This is one of those tests that is so important to our lives and health that it should not be ignored. BTW you guys out there are not safe from cancer! Get yourselves checked for prostate cancer early and often. I know that there are also some men who are susceptible to breast cancer.
